My Story

Hi, I’m Shrish Gogia, a 19-year-old navigating life in Delhi with big dreams, countless lessons, and an insatiable drive to learn and create.

I was the nerdiest kid you’d ever meet when I started middle school. I loved school, my friends, and football, and I excelled academically. One of my proudest moments was securing second place at the national level in Abacus—a milestone that made me believe anything was possible.

In 10th grade, I participated individually in an International Model United Nations (MUN). It was an incredible experience that broadened my perspective and introduced me to the importance of global issues and public speaking. It sparked my love for debating, collaboration, and thinking critically about the world around me.

But as I moved through high school, things started slipping. My grades dropped, I fell into bad company, and it felt like I was sabotaging my future without even realizing it. My board exam results were mediocre at best. Coming from a family with a three-generation-long legacy in the gold and silver jewelry business, I knew I had a rich history behind me, but I couldn’t see where I fit into it all.

Then came 11th grade—a turning point in ways I didn’t fully understand then. I started feeling an urge to learn, explore, and try new things. I couldn’t sit idle. My nights were filled with Fortnite marathons, and my days were spent doing free courses on random YouTube channels, learning skills here and there just for the sake of it. That same year, I co-founded my first venture, an NFT collection called UglyFuglyBois, with two friends. While it didn’t succeed, it taught me the basics of the digital world and the thrill of creating something from scratch.

Not long after, I started a Fortnite YouTube channel. Editing videos quickly became a passion, and I loved every second of it. It was my creative outlet, but like many other things, I had to let it go when school pressures caught up with me. School was both a challenge and a blessing—a place that tested me but also taught me resilience. I’m forever grateful for my teachers and friends who made it memorable.

In 12th grade, I scored an average 86% in my board exams. While it wasn’t the stellar result I had hoped for, it wasn’t bad either. But the post-school stress of choosing a college and watching my two closest friends prepare to go abroad while I stayed in Delhi left me feeling uncertain. Eventually, I got into the University of Delhi—a fresh start that would open up so many unexpected opportunities.

College life began with an experiment: I launched a small portable washing machine business called Sudsy. It started strong but didn’t last because I couldn’t devote enough time to it. Still, it was a valuable learning experience. Around the same time, I made friends with the college football team, which added so much joy and excitement to my routine.

Then came one of the best decisions I ever made—joining ERIC, the incubation cell at the College of Vocational Studies. ERIC is a hub for startups, and its mission of fostering entrepreneurship instantly resonated with me. I admired the seniors there, who became mentors and friends. My efforts and contributions led to me being made a Senior Coordinator, a role that taught me the value of teamwork, leadership, and persistence. I owe so much to the ERIC community for shaping my journey.

Now, I’m in a phase where I’m juggling content creation, helping startups, and trying to land the perfect internship. I love filming, editing, and creating content that inspires and connects with people. Whether it’s helping others turn their ideas into reality or working on my personal growth, I’m constantly learning and evolving.

So, this is me—Shrish Gogia, 19 years old, navigating life in Delhi with dreams too big to ignore, mistakes that taught me valuable lessons, and an unstoppable drive to make every day count. Let’s see where this journey takes me!
